The Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) requires that all persons wanting to become licensed sales associates (Florida real estate agents) in the State of Florida must complete a 63-hour pre-licensing course.
The Georgia Real Estate Commission requires that all persons wanting to become licensed sales associates (Georgia real estate agents) in the State of Georgia must complete a 75-hour pre-licensing course.
Pre-License Course
Classroom Based – Watson Realty Corp. offers a pre-license course in the classroom. This 63 hour course consists of principles and practices of real estate, and Florida Real Estate License Law. The course covers all of the subject matter prescribed by the Florida Real Estate Commission. Passing this course qualifies students to take the Florida licensing exam. The tuition for the course includes instruction and weekend reviews. The licensing course is $199.00 and the required textbooks are $60.00 To enroll, If you choose to attend the Watson School of real estate you’re not obligated to affiliate with Watson nor are you automatically hired.

STATE EXAM REQUIREMENTS
Step 1: – Submit a state application. The applicant must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalency. Questions must be answered regarding any criminal background and licensing history for any professional licenses. An application fee of $105.00 is required for processing costs. Your state application needs to be processed prior to your being able to take your state exam. The average processing time is about 4 weeks however; you have the option and are allowed to submit your application prior to taking a class. Step 2: – Set Appointment for digital fingerprinting. Pursuant to Florida Statutes, Chapter 475, effective July 1st, 2006 all applicants must submit fingerprints that are processed electronically as part of the application. Fingerprint “cards” that were previously used ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTABLE. There are sites throughout Florida that now offer Electronic Fingerprinting. Reservations and payment for fingerprinting can be made by visiting www.pearsonvue.com or by calling their toll-free reservation number at: 1-888-274-2020. Step 3: – Take and pass the required 63-hour course. The applicant must pass the 63-hour course with a score of at least 70%.
Step 4: – Upon approval of the application, PearsonVue will send an approval letter to the applicant. Schedule a weekend review with the real estate school and then schedule a state examination date by either calling PersonVue at 1-888-204-6289, or by visiting their website at www.pearsonvue.com The applicant must pass the examination with a score of at least 75%. Upon completion of the state exam, you will be given the results of your exam on the spot.
